This volume discusses situations of community bilingualism involving Hungarian as a minority language outside of Hungary. It is the first collection of papers aiming to provide comprehensive reports on sociolinguistic research involving Hungarian minorities. While summarizing findings on some situations which are relatively well described in English – such as the Hungarian immigrant communities in Australia and the United States – this volume provides the first opportunity to survey Hungarian minority communities studies which have so far largely been published only in Hungarian.
