P R E F A C E
My experience for more than thirty years and the passion for the profession of the customs officer were the reason and inspiration for one dedicated approach on gathering and electing in one place the words, notions and institutional idioms from the field of Customs service, international trade and international transport, not pretending that I have over closed the collection as whole. I had the honor to give lectures to the new generations of the customs officers, except other,
I expressed my congratulations for their very important position within the administration and their privilege, figuratively saying to be ambassadors at the borders of Kosova territories, borders which do not separate but bring it close to the civilized world.
The knowledge of terms and idioms from this field of mind treatment which is binding for creating a professional language, decisive and understandable, which is preferred by the authorities on compiling the regulations. That means of a standardized style which over helms within it the language specifics of Custom Code as “Legs Specials” and other dispositions which follow. The oral and writing communication, with a professional vocabulary which is well understood gives to the service the image and the culture of language art. While in works and duties, in the papers by which the goods are followed, the custom officers often meet unknown terms and notions, so a good knowledge of foreign languages and especially of English, excludes the procedural bars enabling quick circulation of spiritual and material values in one side, and at the other confessions.
The main aim of this dictionary is to give as more identically as possible the idioms given above, and giving their meaning as authentically as possible. This modest dictionary which in one version of translation contains more than 4000 words and idioms i compiled, consulting different literature and dictionaries from which I can stress the one published by my hard working colleague from this field,
Silvester Varga. I must express my appreciation and thanks to my work colleagues: Lulzim Rafuna, Arben Spahiu, Blerim Halimi, Dardan Shala, Lumnije Ahmeti and my son Virgjil Axhemi for their support at the literature field as for encouraging and giving me inspiration.
With a clear and professional language I hope our Service gives a small contribution to a difficult transitional period and
to an accelerating leaning towards Europe and globalization process. The world is really becoming a Big Village.
