The Kwakiutl language is spoken on the coast of British Columbia, froin Cape Mudge to Douglas and Gardner Channels, excluding Dean Inlet and Bentinck Arm, which are occupied by the Bilqu!a. The language forms a branch of the Wakashan stock, being affiliated with the Nootka or Aht of the west coast of Vancouver Island. The form of these languages
reminds us in nlany respects of that of the Salislran stock, and it may he that a connection exists between both.
